Wake Forest, N.C. — Authorities were searching Friday for a Cary man in connection with the death of a Wake Forest woman.

The body of Heather Guild was found Thursday night in a home on Gilcrest Farm Road in Wake Forest, hours after her mother had reported her missing, authorities said. No cause of death was released.

Following an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for 45-year-old Bradley Morris Hines, charging him with first-degree murder in Guild's death.

Cary police and Franklin County deputies surrounded Hines' home on Holland Bend Drive on Friday morning, but authorities said later that he wasn't in custody.

Hines has been arrested twice for assault on a female, once on July 8, 2016 and again on October 6, 2019.

The home where Guild's body was found is near the My Guy Auto service center, at 998 S. Cross St. in Youngsville. People who knew both Hines and Guild said he owns the shop and she was learning to work on cars there.

Authorities have described Hines as armed and dangerous.

Ryan Christopher Curtis, 39, of Franklinton, was charged with resist, delay and obstruct in connection with the investigation of Guild's death. He was being held in the Franklin County jail under $25,000 bond.
